✦ Synopsis

This paper will describe briefly the expert system that we have developed at the French Central Bank, analyzing its project history against the background of Artificial Intelligence technology evolution, then draw tentative conclusions on axes of future development. Finally, lessons will be drawn from past experience to feed some reflections on decision making and its systems support.
