The procedure described herein is useful for the analysis of formyldienolone metabolites as they can be extracted, derivatized, and analyzed by GC-MS either separately or together. Since formyldienolone as such is not present in human urine, the specific detection of these metabolites can be used as proof of drug ingestion and to perform doping controls in sport.
