The Theory and Practice of Vacuum Science and Technology in Schools and Colleges The purpose of this feature is to assist education at all levels (from school certificate to postgraduate standard) within the area of vacuum science and technology, together with applications. Articles included are concerned primarily, but not necessarily exclusively, with experimental work, theory, apparatus, methods and techniques, recent innovations and constructional methods and procedures. The emphasis is on clarity of exposition with the background knowledge of the student for whom the article is intended kept in mind. Originality in exposition and ideas is aimed at rather than repetition of standard work to be found in textbooks. Contributions to this feature are requested.
