✦ Synopsis

Psychoacoustie experiments on the pitch of residues from three-tone complexes of short duration are reported. The pitch depressions appear to be independent of which three adjacent harmonics of a given fundamental are sounded. The uncertainty with which pitch can be estimated is very little larger than for pure tones of the same fundamental frequency provided there are more than four complete cycles of the waveform present. Below this duration, however, the uncertainty goes up rapidly. There is pitch/intensity variation for a duration of less than about 35 ms.

An attempt is made here in order to derive an impression of time duration during noise presentation. Most ofthe subjects showed that time may be acceleratedby noise around the level of 75 dB(A), feeling that time passes faster than in silence. When intense noise around 90 dB(A) was presented, many s

## Abstract Drying has become an important step within the context of sludge management. Sometimes, sludges from several wastewater treatment plants are centralized in order to dry them at an acceptable cost. Depending on sludge supply, there can be a delay between delivery and feeding into the dry
