✦ Synopsis

A description of the apparatus used for obtaining very low temperatures by the method of adiabatic demagnetisation is given. The method is discussed. Measurements have been carried out on Cerous fluoride, Dysprosium ethylsulfate and Cerium-ethylsulfate.
