Helminth-free bulls were infected artificially with Ostertagia ostertagi (120000 L 3), Cooperia on~ophora (240000 L 3), Haemonchus spee. (1000L 3), and/of Di~tyocaulus viviparus (60 L 3/kg) orally or intraruminally. The animals were treated with fenbendazole during the prepatent period or after having reaehed maturity. The effeet of 5 mg fenbendazole/kg p.o. on 3 d-, 100-and adult stages of 08tertagia ostertagi, Haemonchus spee. and Cooperia oncophora ranges between > 94% and 100%. Particularly notieeable was the effeet on 10a-old Ostertagia ostertagi with > 94%.
5 mg/kg fenbendazole orally removed nearly 100% of 6d-, 13d-, and adult stages of
Dictyocaulus viviparus.
Fenbendazole may be administered as a drench or as medicated feed. The safety of the compound permits the administration of excessively high doses without clinical signs.

Fenbendazol auf Nematoden des Verdauungstraktes und der Lunge untersucht. Die Wirksamkeit auf 3 a-, 10 d-und adulte Stadien von Ostertagia ostertagi, Haemonchus spec. und Cooperia oncophora liegt zwischen > 94% und 100% bei einer Dosis von 5 mg/kg p.o.
