✦ Synopsis

Abstract

Experiment provides the most convincing justification of numerical studies. A frequency selective surface (FSS) with Type‐2 gangbuster array is fabricated and measured. The measurement results agree well with numerical results. An FSS with regular y‐directed dipole array is also fabricated and measured. The bandwidth of the former is observed much wider than that of the latter. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The properties of frequency-selectiue surfaces (FSS) exploited in antenna systems are well known. The purpose of this article is to report some experimental obsemations made on the focusing properties of FSS by tapering the lengths of the array elements. Two FSSs with different tapers are used to st

## Abstract The analysis of periodic structures on isotropic and anisotropic substrates with dielectric losses is presented. Frequency selective surface structures composed by an array of conducting patch elements are considered. This analysis uses the Galerkin method in combination with the equiva

## Abstract This article examines the issue of extending the inter‐element spacing between slots of equally‐spaced linear grounded frequency selective surface (FSS) arrays with spacing beyond half a wavelength in W‐band (75–110 GHz). We present the design, processing, and testing of W‐band grounded
