Factors concerning the characteristics of boiling heat transfer are analyzed theoretically. Based on the experimental data of boiling heat transfer through annular channels with the gaps of 1-2 mm, three correlations which will be used to calculate the heat transfer in the similar conditions are giv

Abstract
Liquid nitrogen has the potential to be used as the coolant for high temperature superconducting devices. In the present study, the heat transfer characteristics of liquid nitrogen in three narrow channels with different geometrical size are experimentally investigated. The influences of the gap width, the length, as well as the orientation angle of the narrow channel on the heat transfer characteristics of liquid nitrogen are studied. An experimental study was performed on heat transfer of an open thermosyphon with constant wall heat flux. Water and aqueous glycerin were used as working fluids. The experimental range of modified Rayleigh number was 1 u 10 3 < Ra m < 3 u 10 5 . The average and local heat transfer coefficients, ver
In a natural circulation loop, flow instabilities, such as density wave oscillations, occur under certain operating conditions, but the influence of flow oscillations on the heat transfer is not well understood. An experiment was conducted using a natural circulation loop of liquid nitrogen with tes
