✦ Synopsis

ing to the decreasing sizes of the ARS patch, the center frequency is decreased to be at 2597 MHz, compared to 1958 MHz for the case of s 64Њ. The obtained CP bandwidth is 26 MHz or about 1.0%. And from the measured maximum received power, the proposed ARS patch antenna with s 45Њ is also seen to be an efficient radiator. The ARS patch antennas with two other cases of s 60Њ and 50Њ are also studied, and the results are listed in Table . For the obtained results, good CP performances are also observed.

4. Conclusions

A single-feed circularly polarized ARS microstrip antenna has been proposed and successfully implemented. By selecting a suitable radius ratio between the patch's outer and inner radii for the proposed ARS microstrip antenna with various flare angles less than about 64Њ, CP radiation can be achieved. And from the experimental results obtained, good CP performances of the proposed ARS microstrip antenna have also been observed.
