Abstract
In this article, the line‐of‐sight (LOS) multiple‐input‐multiple‐output (MIMO) channel characteristics with multiple polarized antenna arrays are experimentally investigated. The channel transmission matrices under different combinations of up to six kinds of antenna polarizations are measured, and then the matrix condition number and channel capacity are studied. It is concluded from the results that we can achieve lower matrix condition number and higher capacity with proper combination and configuration of antenna polarization in LOS environment. Furthermore, the relationship between channel capacity and channel matrix condition number is also analyzed. © 2011 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
