โœฆ Synopsis

Experiments have been made on the onset and damping behavior of the oscillation in a thermoacoustic prime mover with nitrogen as the working ยฏuids. In contrast to the traditions indicating that the damping point coincide with the onset one, we ยฎnd lags between the onset temperature and the damping temperature in the thermoacoustic oscillation. A hysteretic loop, due to the temperature dierence, is recognized for the ยฎrst time. It is conยฎrmed by all results of the nitrogen of 0.4ยฑ2.4 MPa. Some interesting phenomena observed in the experiments are also presented.

The effects of stirring on the oscillating behavior of the BZ reaction are studied experimentally in a batch reactor. It is found that the oscillating behavior is sensitive to the rate of stirring even under an atmosphere of nitrogen or argon and the presence of inert salt (Na$O,) may enhance the st

To better understand the effect of asperity on the crack closure and fatigue crack growth behavior, the load-CMOD relations and crack propagation rate were examined through the addition of artificial wedges into pre-cracks. Experimental results revealed that the unloading phase of the load vs. CMOD
