Temperature dependences of heat capacity C P (T) and magnetization M(T) of an icosahedral dysprosium boride (DyB 62 ) single crystal have been experimentally investigated in the temperature range of 2-300 K. The magnetic susceptibility w(T) of DyB 62 follows Curie-Weiss law with a paramagnetic Curie

✦ Synopsis
Thermal expansion ␣, specific heat capacity c and thermal conductivity of untreated and stretched polycarbonate (PC) have been measured at temperatures above 4.2 K and the Grueneisen parameter ␥ has been calculated from ␣ and c. All properties exhibit typical low-temperature features of amorphous solids. The specific heat c is not influenced by stretching, ␣, ␥ and , however, get very anisotropic. The temperature dependence of ␣, and ␥ changes distinctly when mechanically loaded or oriented. The Grueneisen parameter ␥(T) shows a maximum at 10 K for untreated PC and at 20 K for stretched PC.
