✦ Synopsis

A new kind of latent heat storage system, namely, indirect-contact galisol (gaseousliquidsolid) system, was investigated experimentally and theoretically. A physical model describing the performance of the system is proposed. Through experiments and by our model the performance characteristics of the system and its salient features are clarified. The limitations of the system operation in charging and discharging modes are formulated. There is good agreement between theoretical and experimental results.
