✦ Synopsis

This paper describes a phenomenon of fast randomization of a coIlisionless plasma observed in the so called "plasma sac" of a constricted discharge. The phenomenon seems to be related to the achievement, in the constriction, of a critical Mach number, close to unity, in the drifting electron gas. A tentative interpretation and the experimental evidence of electro-acoustic waves related to the phenomenon are also presented.
