✦ Synopsis

The hydrodynamic stability problem with respect to natural convection in a horizontal liquid layer of liquid electrolytes exhibiting concentration polarization only has been investigated in aqueous solutions of copper sulphate at room temperature. by the value of the modified Rayleigh number. The stability of the system is determined The critical value of this number caIculated theoretically is 1707. The value determined experimentally is lower, 1130 & 210.

The ratio of the critical coagulation concentration (CCC) of counterions is evaluated for spherical particles and asymmetric electrolytes. A perturbation method is adopted to solve the Poisson-Boltzmann equation governing the electrical potential distribution of the system under consideration. On th
