Abstract
Measurements of extinction of solar radiation in spectral intervals centred at 0.50, 1.03 and 3.70 μm are presented for different types of attenuating atmosphere. It appears that the ratios between the total optical thickness in the visible and in the near infrared can give information about the evolution of the water droplet size distribution during the growth of hazes and fogs.
