Abstract
Three hundred eightyโfive children were examined with the Midlinerยฎ echoencephalography unit. In examinations termed adequate, correct interpretations were made in 94.6% of healthy children versus 78% ill children. The incidence of adequate examinations increases with the child's age, but 58% of children with hydrocephalus had inadequate examinations, regardless of age. For the measurement of the infantile ventricle system the midliner is not appropriate.
