✦ Synopsis

This invention relates to a process for producing a linear reinforcing insert, such as a U-section energiser and retainer, for a linear seal -in particular for sealing doors and windows on vehicle bodies. The insert has regularly recurrent cross-sectional variations in the longitudinal direction of the linear seal. A former for the insert moves along with the shaped material in the longitudinal direction of the linear seal and returns to the starting position for shaping on a path remote from the material.
