## Abstract We consider the twoโdimensional problem of the scattering of a timeโharmonic wave, propagating in an homogeneous, isotropic elastic medium, by a rough surface on which the displacement is assumed to vanish. This surface is assumed to be given as the graph of a function ฦโ__C__^1,1^(โ).

## Abstract In this paper, we consider the Dirichlet and impedance boundary value problems for the Helmholtz equation in a nonโlocally perturbed halfโplane. These boundary value problems arise in a study of timeโharmonic acoustic scattering of an incident field by a soundโsoft, infinite rough surfa
