โœฆ Synopsis

Abstract

A mathematical model for the small vibration of an elastic string is considered. The model takes into account the change of tension due to the movement of the end points of the string. Under the assumptions that the speed of the moving ends be less than the characteristic speed of the equation, the existence and the uniqueness of local weak solution and global strong solution are proved. A short and self-contained proof of the existence of the scattering solution in exterior domains is presented for some class of second order elliptic equations. The method does not use the integral equation; it is based on Fredholm theory and the limiting absorption principle for solutions in the wh

The aim of the paper is to investigate the well-posedness of an integrodifferential equation describing multiple fragmentation processes, where the fragmentation rate is size and position dependent and new particles are randomly distributed in the space according to some probability density. An old
