Lactating female rodents are fiercely aggressive against intruders when they are rearing and protecting pups. In monogamous prairie voles, Microtus ochrogaster, males are parental and exhibit a dramatic increase in aggression, termed mating-induced aggression, in association with reproduction. In mi
