Abstract

The role of the sublattice spin non‐collinearity in antiferrodielectrics (AFD) in exciton‐magnon pair absorption is investigated using exciton theory. An expression for the effective dipole moment of the pair transition of AFD is obtained depending on the value of the external magnetic field breaking the spin collinearity. The role of the magnon density of states of AFD in the absorption intensity under strong magnetic fields is investigated. A formula is obtained for the dependence of the relative integral absorption intensity on the magnetic field.
