โœฆ Synopsis

The 2-naphthol-triethylamine (2NP-TEA) system in a nonpolar hydrogen bonding solvent, 1,4-dioxane, has been found to show weak exciplex emission. The excited state hydrogen bonding reaction has been found to be reversible. The quenching of exciplex emission with increasing TEA concentration has also been observed. Excited state reaction rates have been determined.
