✦ Synopsis

Excitation

functions have been measured for "a'Kr(3He, xn)8'.83.85m.85e.*7mSr and "a'Kr('He. pxn)8'.82m~s3~X4m~*4B.8hRb reactions over the energy range of l&33 MeV and for "a'Kr(G(, xn) R2.83.85m.85g.87mSr and "d'Kr(a, pxn) 8'~n*m~83~*4~86Rb processes from 10 to 25 MeV. Cross section data and calculated thick target yields show that for the production of S2Sr in this energy region the 3He-particle induced process is more suitable than the alpha-induced process. A high current gas target was constructed to test the "Sr-production yield under actual production conditions using 36 MeV 3He-particles. A thick target yield of 1.49 PCi (55 kBq)/pAh was achieved using natural krypton. The 82Kr ('He, 3n) %r process is technically feasible for production and, if long parasitic irradiations could be carried out, the method would be of considerable interest for use at a medium-sized cyclotron.

Excitation functions were measured by the stacked-foil technique for (p, xn) reactions up to EP = 20 MeV on natural tellurium and enriched '23Te. Thick target vields were calculated for the formation of '\*'I, "'I, iz41, '261, "'1 and "'1 from natural tellurium, andYZ21-and iz31 from enriched iz3Te.
