Excitation energy spectra and neutron decay of xenon have been measured in extreme forward angle scattering of 250A and 400A MeV n70 ions, using one quadrant of the CELSIUS storage ring as a magnetic spectrometer. The observed excitation energy spectrum, ranging from 12 to 36 MeV, has been compared
