✦ Synopsis

The absorption spectra of N-ethylcarbazole, 1,3-di(N-carbmolyl)propane, meso-(de)-2,4di(Ncarbazolyl)penlsne and poly(N-vinylcxbazole) in the excited singlet state were measured in solution by a picosecond Nd3+:YAG laser photolysis method_ Analyzing the absorption rise curve, the formation time constilnf of the szmdwich escimer at roam temperature is deternlined and discussed.
