Magnetization

of semimagnetic semiconductors (SMSC) was measured in pulsed fields up to 55 T at 1.3 K. A steplike saturation of the magnetization is predicted.

Manganese-based SMSC show magnetization steps, but not iron-and cobalt-based SMSC. Dzialoshinski-Moriya interaction is a possible reason for preventing pair states crossing.
