YBaZCusOr_-z was prepared from a mixture of BaC03, I'~03 and CuO powders in stoichiometric proportion according to the formula YBazCusO,. Samples 1, 2 and 3 are superconductors with zero resistance at 91K and their superconducting phase ratios at 77K are 90% (DC magnet,ization, Z.F.C.), 21% and 11% (AC magnetization), respectively.
