T~plet~oubIet energy transfer from the naphthalene triplet to the ~nzophenone ketyl radicai has been studied in tetrahydrofumn at room temperature by measuring transient absorption and fluorescence spectra and decay profiles. The rate constant for the energy-transfer process has been determined to be 7 x lo9 M-' s-' in tetrahydrofuran based on an analysis using a simple kinetic model.
