The anodic dark and photodissolution of n-Gap and n-GaAs has been investigated in aqueous H,SO,, NaCIO, and KOH solutmns. Evaluation with the aid of a recently developed dynamical theory of photoelectrochemical processes points to kinetic control of the anodic dark dissolution and of the photocurrent onset which deviates considerably from the flatband potential. Reference (exchange) current densities for semiconductor dissolution with electrons and holes have been determined.
