✦ Synopsis

Single crystals of the new bromo-bridged onedimensional Pd"-Pd'" mixed-valence complex [ Pd( chxn)*Br] Br2 (chxn = trans-1,2-cyclohexanediamine) have been prepared. ESR spectra, resonance Raman spectra, reflection spectra and conductivities are reported. The results are interpreted as evidence for the presence of Pd( III) defects within the chains.
