โฆ Synopsis
An investigtion
was carried out into the waporation of butane droplets in a vertical column of eater or brine. From tine tilm records, measurements were made of bubbfe velocity and bubbIe growth rate.
For bubbles .ero+ing up to 2.0 timer the initial diameter for brine and 2.7 times for xsater a constant velocity of about 0.25 m:s was obtained. Above this critical rario the velocity increased as the square root of the diameter ratio. it was observed that the residual liquid butane slosilctd from side to side on the inside of the bubble surface and above the critic7.l diameter ratio the liquid butane film wns the main controlling resistance in the evaporation process. which increased \vith the l/6 power of the diameter ratio.
