✦ Synopsis
The results 0 . a kinetic study of the diazotization of m-chloroaniline (l), are combined with equilibrium and thermodynamic studies of m-chloroaniline and its hydrochloride(2), in order to evaluate AF*, AH* and AS* for the nitrosation of m-chloroaniline, which is the rate-determining reaction in the diazotization of this amine.
While the values of k,, for rn-chloroaniline and for aniline, differ considerably, those of k3 were found to be of the same order.
