β¦ Synopsis
This paper demonstrates an effective method to predict the transient performance of common-shaft cascade induction motors. This system is commonly used in deep well digging plant (i.e. oil wells). The transient events presented in this paper are obtained by using a PC based simulation program. These events include system starting, system loading and unloading, three-phase fault occurrence and clearance, disconnection and reconnection of the supply, and plugging.
