β¦ Synopsis
In order to evaluate the procedure of measurement of temperature of burning liquid drops by suspending them on thermocouple junctions, the governing equations for the liquid and thermocouple temperature histories have been formulated, basically in terms of thermal energy balances. Using typical values of parameters encountered in droplet combustion, it is found that the thermocouQle temoeratures alwavs lao --m.m --a ~ih&n~i~ actual liquid temperatures; throughout the drop . Furthermore, it is found that the maximum liauid temperatures attained are less than the corresponding boiling points at the prevailing pressures.
