โฆ Synopsis
Levitation and suspension forces between a permanent magnet and a bulk high T c superconductor are examined in microgravity experiments. Different experimental results are obtained for a melt processed and a sintered Y-Ba-Cu-O samples. Stable equilibrium of the melt processed sample is discussed from view points of pinning effect.

This paper describes the numerical and experimental superconducting levitation forces of a single-grained Y-Ba-Cu-0 bulk superconductor of approximately 48 mm in diameter. The experimental levitation forces were measured by changing the magnet radius systematically. It was found experimentally that
An updated high temperature superconductor maglev measurement system was used to investigate the three-dimensional levitation force and lateral force in the levitation system consisting of a rectangular magnet and a cylindrical superconductor. The optimization levitation region was found at the same
