In this paper, we describe the properties of two 0-safe backup/replication methods and compare them with the traditional 1-safe and 2-safe backup/replication methods. The 1-safe and 2-safe backup/replication methods have been analyzed for many years, and their problems are well known. The properties

โฆ Synopsis
A system is considered in which two dual nodes with databases are placed at distant locations for mutual backup. When they are distributed in the network, the relationship between the centralized maintenance and the reliability is studied. The maintenance teams are centrally located at the maintenance center. The maintenance is carried out by two types of calling, emergency calling, requiring response in a short time, and nonemergency calling, with response after a long wait, depending on the system failure conditions. In recognition of temporal reliability, the degree of emergency is classified into several levels depending on the number of failed devices in the system and on whether the maintenance team has arrived. Based on this level, the method for maintenance is determined. Using this proposal, the system reliability and the number of callings are systematically evaluated. For nonemergency calling, several failures are scheduled, while for emergency calling the number is as small as possible, so that the maintenance method is made efficient.
