β¦ Synopsis
Mercer University School of Medicine conducted continuing medical education (CME) conferences on toxicologic care targeted at primary care physicians and other health care professionals. One group attended a two-day conference and a second group attended a one-day conference with essentially the same curriculum content and design. There was no statistically signijicant difference in group pretest mean scores (46.8) or posttest mean scores (72.92). Neither was there a difference between groups on gain in test scores. However, there was a statistically significant difference (p < .05) between pretest and posttest scores in both gsoups.
Participants in the two-day conference rated the instructional method, instructional materials, course content, benefits of attendance, and course setting as more satisfying ( p < .0001) than participants in the one-day conference. However, satisfaction levels in both groups were high.
