β¦ Synopsis
Abstract
Four new euphane triterpenes, (3__Ξ²__)β3β(acetyloxy)euphaβ7,25βdienβ24βone (1), (3__Ξ²__,24__R__)β3β(acetyloxy)euphaβ7,25βdienβ24βol (2), (3__Ξ²__,24__S__)βeuphaβ7,25βdieneβ3,24βdiol (3), and (3__Ξ²__,24__R__)βeuphaβ7,25βdieneβ3,24βdiol (4) were isolated from the barks of Broussonetia papyrifera, a tree whose roots, barks, and fruits were used as herbal drugs in China. The structures of 1β4 were elucidated on the basis of spectroscopic evidence and chemical methods.
