General forms of a relation between the Lagrangian and Eulerian probability distributions of the Jacobian as well as the densities of passive tracers in a turbalent medium are obtained. Using these, in the eases of a compressible and an incompressible medium, the probability properties of the density under various initial distributions of the latter are analysed and studied. Expressions for the moments of the density field are obtained.
