COPYRIGHT
WIPO-Copyright Law for the Digital Age -The WPPT (WIPO Phonograms and Performances Treaty) entered into force on the 20 May 2002. The WPPT is one of two key treaties which aim to adapt copyright law for the digital age (the other, the WIPO Copyright Treaty entered into force on 6 March 2002). The WPPT safeguards the interests of producers of phonograms or sound recordings as well as performers whose performances are fixed in phonograms. It updates and supplements the Rome Convention for the Protection of Performers, Producers of Phonograms and Broadcasting Organisations.
