✦ Synopsis
Abstract
Low frequency vibrations of single crystal 4,4′‐dichlorobenzophenone (DCBP) have been determined by Raman spectroscopy and an analysis of the spectra is presented. In the temperature range 160–190 K two phase changes occur, a feature that is common to many organic molecular crystals and is quite likely due to conformational changes in individual molecules. These changes do not appear to alter the molecular symmetry, C~2~, or the space group C of the unit cell.

## Abstract The mass spectra of cyclopentene‐1‐ol‐3, ‐1‐o1‐4, those of __cis__‐ and __trans__‐cyclopentene‐3,4‐diol and of the three stereoisomers of cyclopentene‐3,4,5‐triol have been studied. Decomposition modes based upon results obtained using deuterium labelled analogues are discussed.
