A 'Ll and " F NMR study allowed comparison over the temperature range 273-400Koftheionic conductivity of the two materials: crystalline Li3ThF7 and the Li0.75Th0.25F1.75 glass which have the same LiF/ThF4 ratio. Fluorine diffusion is not observed in the crystalline sample while the fluorine mobility in the glass can be explained by the variable coordlnatlon number of thorium (8.5 to 9.5) and by the numerous breaks in the lThFg( polyhedra layers. The lithiums are mobile in the two phases, this phenomenon occuring about 35°C [nigher in L13ThF7. Discussion of the diffusion process is based on knowledge of the Li3ThF7 structure.
