✦ Synopsis
The variation of the electron spin resonance signal of a pure vitrinite (Barnsley seam, Dinnington Colliery, South Yorkshire) carbonized at various temperatures and showing only a simple line in the natural state was investigated. Above a treatment temperature of 600°C near the center of the wide line a hyperfine structure is observed. 1
