Abstract
The α‐β phase transition of a K~2~SO~4~ single crystal has been studied by means of Raman scattering. The temperature variation of the spectra is accounted for by a model in which the order parameter is a pseudo‐spin variable. Above the transition temperature, several Raman lines persist, allowing some external modes to be attributed.
