✦ Synopsis

By differential thermal analysis of some Au-Cu alloys the order-disorder transformation AuCu I-AuCu I1 of the compound AuCu is shown to be a first order transformation accompanied by a variation of enthalpy. This method has also allowed to detect a certain order in alloys with more than 75 at-% Au.
