✦ Synopsis
Abstract
The composition of complexes resulting from the interaction of ICl with some aromatic hydrocarbons has been investigated by the method of continous variations applied to measurements of the refractive index, of the dielectric constant, and of the heat of reaction.
Further, the equilibrium constant and the enthalpy of reaction for the formation of ICl. mesitylene complex were determined by dielectric and calorimetric methods. The latter yielded satisfactory results consistent with those obtained by UV. spectroscopy.
