The dihedral angle between the indole and benzene ring systems in the title compound, C 17 H 11 N 3 O 2 , is 4.37 (7) . In the crystal structure, molecules are linked by N-HÁ Á ÁN and C-HÁ Á ÁO hydrogen bonds, resulting in the formation of layers. These layers are further interconnected through weak
