✦ Synopsis
In the title molecule, C 18 H 16 O 3 , the configuaration with respect to the C C double bond is E. The benzoyl group is rotated out of the mean plane through the rest of the molecule by 88.31 (4) . In the crystal structure, molecules are linked by weak intermolecular C-HÁ Á ÁO interactions to form twodimensional sheets.

The title compound, C 22 H 30 O 4 , is known as a chemopreventive agent against colon tumor development. The molecular structure is nearly planar, showing a trans arrangement with respect to the C C bond of the phenylpropenoate moiety.
In the title compound, C 28 H 19 NO 4 , the con®gurations of the substituents attached to the oxirane ring are conditioned by the sp3 states of the oxirane C atoms. In the packing, the molecules form zigzag molecular chains along the b direction.
In the title molecule, C 35 H 27 NO 3 S 2 , the indole system is approximately planar. The phenyl rings of the phenylsulfonyl and phenylsulfanyl groups are oriented at angles of 74.69 (7) and 88.35 (9) , respectively, to the indole ring system. The dihedral angle between the two phenyl rings of the
