In array antennas, sometimes the desired radiation pattern cannot be obtained due to coupling between element antennas, reflections from the surroundings, or amplitude and phase error of the power supply circuits or failures. In these cases, it is necessary to regenerate the desired radiation patter

Abstract
In this article, an extension of βfield regionsβ to estimate simply and qualitatively the feature of the radiation patterns for the diverging/focusing systems with the inherent phase error on their aperture is discussed and applied to the curved leakywave structure. The result will be especially useful relating to the design of the curved leakywave structure in the microwave/mmβwave applications. Β© 2002 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
